State of Shock!

My little man.... All grown up
I am in a state of shock. Absolute shock...

Christmas? Again?

An old pic I know, but he is just his father all over. <3 them both

Well that time of year we all love is fast approaching again. And I mean fast! Can you believe it is only 12 weeks till our favourite fat man comes?

new foods, new tastes, new faces

Yuck!
So this is the face Jayse pulled when I gave him avocado for the first time.... Safe to say he doesn't like it... At all!

modern day mums and the Internet

"Quick google it!"...

I seriously don't know how many times I have said this since Jayse has been born.

Family Affairs

I do...
I would like to start by saying a huge congratulations to my brother Dru and now sister-in-law Kelly on finally tying the knot. And after 17 years together it is about bloody time! What was meant to be Kel's 40th birthday party turned into a beautiful suprise ceremony under Kel's favourite dead tree on their stunning property in Forster. In true Kel and Dru style it was 70s theme which has proved for some interesting wedding photos!

we are what we eat

I look at my little heavy weight as he lies in my arms and I still don't think it has sunk in that he is actually mine. Mine forever. Don't get me wrong I remember every excruciating ounce of pain that was endured to bring him into this world, but there is still this surreal feeling of 'I must be dreaming' and 'are you sure this is real?'

Back to reality....

So I've finally come back down from cloud nine and it's time to get back to reality... Just over three weeks after my last post on April 10, my fiancĂ©e and I welcomed our beautiful monster Jayse Anthony into the world. Weighing in at a healthy 4.2kgs, he is nothing short of perfection. Jayse is almost 4 months now and I still cannot believe how quickly time has flown. It still feels like yesterday that I was pacing the floor of the birthing suite at the hospital. And yes labour isn't something I would recommend to everyone. It is nothing short of pure agony. But the reward you get for all your efforts is pure bliss and simply breath taking. Those first few moments with your new bundle of joy leaves you to wonder how on earth you could feel such immense love for a teeny, tiny human you've only just met.

Too long between posts

Now it's been a while between drinks... But between moving house, working two jobs and having an enormous bulge growing on the front of me I have found it extremely difficult to keep up with writing about my feelings.

I am now officially playing the waiting game. I am 38 weeks and my midwife tells me my little bundle of joy is in position and ready to go. My hospital bags are packed and his room ready - it is now all up to him.

Week 21....

I have sadly said goodbye to my belly button piercing... Adios! Definitely getting a little too tight across the tummy now to be wearing one of them. I think my little man is going to be a soccer superstar because he has been kicking like crazy! Not sure yet whether I like the feeling yet though. It is very, very weird... But at the same time it is kind of cool to know that that is your child moving around in there...

Week 19

My baby has 10 toes, 8 fingers and 2 thumbs.... Thank god! I just had my 19 week ultrasound and every limb, organ and body part is where it should be... I also found out the gender of the baby..... and it's a BOY! YAY! Not that I really cared whether it was a boy or a girl, but I won't lie, my partner and I secretly wanted a boy =) .... Now I can start buying clothes for my little man! And I love being able to refer to him and as 'little man' or 'him'. It gives him a personality now, rather than just referring to him as 'it'.

Week 17....

Yes my stomach is starting to protrude.... Much like a small soccer ball as my sister put it. And all my favourite clothes are now too uncomfortable to wear. It sucks! I've put on about 3.5 kilos now and most people have said I am not showing at all, but I feel like a beached whale!

Week 16...

So week 16 begins and I am beginning to realise just how relaxed my pregnancy has been so far. I don't even feel pregnant to tell you the truth - besides the fact that I'm starting to look and feel a little round and I can't enjoy myself at parties! I am worried that the second half of my pregnancy is going to be a killer!

According to my book my baby is small enoughto fit in the palm of my hand and weighs about 80 grams. And thanks to my best friend I now have an app on my phone called 'baby bump' which compares the size of my baby to a fruit. I think this week it is the size of navel orange. Weird! And soon I should be able to start feeling the baby move - not literally kicking, but light, little flutters and tickles of the little munchkin's movements.

Further than I thought?....

So I had my 12 week ultrasound a week and a half ago.... But really it should have been called my almost 14 week ultrasound, because the midwife told me I was a little bit further than what I thought. So I am now 15 weeks and I am a little freaked out because in five weeks time that means I am officially half way... This whole journey is going a little bit quicker than I anticipated.

Week 15 - so according to my baby books my little jellybean weighs about 50 grams and it's about 10 centimetres long. (I swear it looked way bigger in the ultrasound scans though!) And apparently it already has hair growing on its eyebrows and head... weird!

Week 11...

So by the end of this week my tiredness and irritability is meant to go away.... Thank god! I'm sure my fiancee will be happy with that as well. Tiredness and irritability aside though I am trying to be good and go for walks every day - but when your constantly craving your king bed and chocolate it's very hard to find the enthusiasm.

This week I had my first experience of being the 'sober' person at one of best friend's engagement party. I can tell you now I definitely wasn't the life of that party! I was constantly worried that I didn't seem like I was enjoying myself - but when everyone else is drinking copious amounts of champagne and your stuck on lemonade it's hard to be as joyous as they are!.... But I did have a great night and lasted till midnight which I was happy about!

Week 10

So apparently by this week my uterus should be the size of a grapefruit.... Disgusting I know.

It absolutely amazes just how much my body changes in such a short amount of time. And so far this journey has been a roller coaster ride of emotions. One minute I'm fine, the next I'm crying and then I'm angry. It is way to hard to keep up with. I feel sorry for my fiancee - the one who bares the brunt of my crazy moodswings.

I'm pregnant...!?!

So I found out a little over four weeks ago that I am pregnant....wtf?

I am currently nine weeks into this 40 or so week journey and I am slowly becoming used to the fact that I am going to be bringing a child into this world. But having only turned 23 in March I am still trying to figure out who I am as a person and what I want to do with my life - I guess now that's been figured out for me!
