modern day mums and the Internet

"Quick google it!"...

I seriously don't know how many times I have said this since Jayse has been born.

Family Affairs

I do...
I would like to start by saying a huge congratulations to my brother Dru and now sister-in-law Kelly on finally tying the knot. And after 17 years together it is about bloody time! What was meant to be Kel's 40th birthday party turned into a beautiful suprise ceremony under Kel's favourite dead tree on their stunning property in Forster. In true Kel and Dru style it was 70s theme which has proved for some interesting wedding photos!

we are what we eat

I look at my little heavy weight as he lies in my arms and I still don't think it has sunk in that he is actually mine. Mine forever. Don't get me wrong I remember every excruciating ounce of pain that was endured to bring him into this world, but there is still this surreal feeling of 'I must be dreaming' and 'are you sure this is real?'

Back to reality....

So I've finally come back down from cloud nine and it's time to get back to reality... Just over three weeks after my last post on April 10, my fiancĂ©e and I welcomed our beautiful monster Jayse Anthony into the world. Weighing in at a healthy 4.2kgs, he is nothing short of perfection. Jayse is almost 4 months now and I still cannot believe how quickly time has flown. It still feels like yesterday that I was pacing the floor of the birthing suite at the hospital. And yes labour isn't something I would recommend to everyone. It is nothing short of pure agony. But the reward you get for all your efforts is pure bliss and simply breath taking. Those first few moments with your new bundle of joy leaves you to wonder how on earth you could feel such immense love for a teeny, tiny human you've only just met.

Too long between posts

Now it's been a while between drinks... But between moving house, working two jobs and having an enormous bulge growing on the front of me I have found it extremely difficult to keep up with writing about my feelings.

I am now officially playing the waiting game. I am 38 weeks and my midwife tells me my little bundle of joy is in position and ready to go. My hospital bags are packed and his room ready - it is now all up to him.

Week 21....

I have sadly said goodbye to my belly button piercing... Adios! Definitely getting a little too tight across the tummy now to be wearing one of them. I think my little man is going to be a soccer superstar because he has been kicking like crazy! Not sure yet whether I like the feeling yet though. It is very, very weird... But at the same time it is kind of cool to know that that is your child moving around in there...

Week 19

My baby has 10 toes, 8 fingers and 2 thumbs.... Thank god! I just had my 19 week ultrasound and every limb, organ and body part is where it should be... I also found out the gender of the baby..... and it's a BOY! YAY! Not that I really cared whether it was a boy or a girl, but I won't lie, my partner and I secretly wanted a boy =) .... Now I can start buying clothes for my little man! And I love being able to refer to him and as 'little man' or 'him'. It gives him a personality now, rather than just referring to him as 'it'.
